Meet the Team
The "It's Giving Glow Up" team leaders are local business owners who are also fellow moms navigating the adolescent journey at different points—which means we understand what you're worried about AND what your daughter is experiencing. We're living it too in addition to our professional experiences.
Heather Nicole Alton -Licensed Esthetician of 16 years & multiple business owner
Owner of Live Love Beauty, Heather has built a business around helping people feel good in their own skin for the last 8 years with a large part of her clientele being fellow moms.
She is an Award winning Hard wax expert & educator with online & hands on classes for fellow professionals along with an industry known brand of products for Estheticians. Her experience & confidence with teaching classes & professional speeches along with her work with clients of all ages has given her a unique look into what beauty & confidence means in every situation. Years of working with girls 11-17 with skincare & waxing drove the desire to create a program like this to help girls build their confidence & education of self care & self love. Through the years of working with girls these ages it is clear what girls struggle with, the misinformation out there on skincare & beauty services as well as the experience that girls sometimes feel more open to talking about certain subjects with someone other than a parent. Being a mom of a 10 year old has given the patience, empathy & understanding needing to effectively work with girls this age & love doing it.
Jen Canobbio - Licensed Psychotherapist + Teen Empowerment Coach
With over 30 years as a clinical social worker specializing in adolescent mental health, Jen has worked with thousands of tweens and teens across every setting imaginable—residential treatment, schools, private practice, and homes. Known by colleagues as "The Teen Whisperer" for her exceptional ability to connect with youth navigating the complexities of adolescence, Jen brings all of that clinical training and real-world experience to this program.
After three decades in therapy helping families in crisis, Jen created Threshold—a proactive coaching program designed to give teens the tools BEFORE they're struggling. That same philosophy drives It's Giving Glow Up! : building the essentials for healthy friendships, emotional balance, and fierce self-esteem before middle school drama becomes overwhelming.
A local therapist and mom of two adolescents herself, Jen gets it from both sides—the clinical expertise and the lived reality of raising kids through these intense years.
Percy Elliott-Cunningham - 13+ Years Licensed Cosmetologist + Entrepreneur
Percy is a mom of two boys ( Ages 16 & 10) as well as a 13 year old step daughter.
Born and raised in the Santa Cruz mountains, Percy has a passion for empowering her community, as well as advocating for her children in a school system that doesn't always automatically make room for the neurodivergent kids.
As a licensed Cosmetologist, she's worked hard at perfecting her craft & making her clients feel beautiful, taken care of & confident.
"Growing up as an ADHD girl, I know what it's like to feel the pressures of trying to fit in, trying to say the "right" things and look the "right" way. Over time I've found incredible strength, resilience and beauty in being unapologetically myself. Now being a parent of two ADHD kids, I've become a fierce & educated advocate for my kids, fighting for their rights & teaching them to do the same. One of the best things we can do for our kids is to teach them to have a strong & courageous voice inside them that tells them they are ENOUGH."
Together, these women combine clinical depth, wellness expertise, professional delivery, & real-world parenting experience to provide support your daughter & family deserve.

Q: What ages is the camp for?
A: Girls ages 11–13, entering or in middle school. The activities & discussions are specifically designed for this age group. Whether your daughter is preparing for the transition ahead or already in the thick of friendship drama, & big emotions, this program gives her the essentials to handle it with confidence.
She doesn't need to be struggling to benefit—this is about equipping her with tools before she desperately needs them.
Q: What kind of topics will be covered?
A: Each day focuses on a theme combining mind + body knowledge and skills. Self-confidence & self-talk, emotional awareness & healthy friendships. Age-appropriate skincare & self-care routines, stress & anxiety coping tools. Body respect, healthy habits & much more.
Q: Are the discussions age-appropriate?
A: Absolutely. All conversations are guided to be supportive, safe, and relatable, while being age appropriate. Encouraging girls to express themselves without embarrassment or pressure. While we will be touching on pre-teen changes of mind + body, this is NOT sex Ed. We will be keeping all topics light and PG.
Q: Is this camp for girls who are shy or anxious?
A: Yes! Small groups & structured activities create a safe space for every girl to participate comfortably at her own pace. There will be opportunities for both group activities & individual reflection. Learning these skills WITH peers is part of what makes them stick—she'll see she's not alone in what she's experiencing.
This camp is literally all about teaching the essentials for building healthy friendships & preventing drama. Ground rules are established on day one, & staff will actively facilitate inclusive dynamics.
Q: My daughter is already pretty confident. Is this still worth it?
A: Absolutely. Confidence is one thing—having the essential tools to regulate emotions, navigate conflict, & set boundaries is another. Even naturally confident girls benefit from having these foundational strategies. Elite athletes still train. This is advanced preparation, not remediation.
.Q: What's included for this price?
Your daughter will be provided with everything she'll need throughout the 30 hours of learning & fun led by licensed professionals..
This isn't generic summer camp supervision—it's expert-led skill-building with a licensed psychotherapist who's worked with thousands of teens, delivered in engaging, age-appropriate ways. You’re investing in the opportunity for social & emotional growth in a small, supported group that includes all materials, healthy snacks, & the essentials that last for life.
Q: What is the camp schedule?
A: 5 days Monday - Friday 9am -3pm. Each day with a unique theme, mixing creative and educational activities, discussion and crafts.
Q: Is this group therapy?
Nope—this is proactive skill-building, not clinical treatment.
We're teaching girls the essentials for navigating normal developmental challenges before they become crises. Think strength training before the season starts, not physical therapy after an injury. That said, Jen is a licensed clinical social worker with 30+ years of experience, which means she brings clinical training to create a safe, supportive environment and can recognize if additional support is needed. If your daughter is currently in therapy, this program complements that work beautifully.
Q: Is lunch/snacks provided?
